Amparo:Un dia en la playa

Una hermosa sirenita!

Hoy fue un dia marabiyoso. Fue mi primera ves en la playa y estoy muy agradesida con todos los miembros del instituto por esta oportunidad. GRASIAS. Al yegar a la playa estaba muy emosionada pues era la mi primera ves que iva. Estaba muy frio y el agua casi congelada,pero heso no fue obstaculo y me entre al agua. fueron pocos los que entraron. estar hay es muy emosionante y me diberti bastante al enterrar a Marguarita y aserle el curpo de sirena.

Angela; Good Day

On Wednesday, we got up early in the morning as usual and ate breakfast. After breakfast we headed off to Newport. On the road we talked about different, silly things, and we also played a game called Mafia, Interesting game. I got tired so I just listened to my Ipod and fell asleep. When I woke up we were in the parking lot of the Newport Aquarium. I loved it there! There was so many Critters and exciting things to see. Later that day, we headed off to lunch and ate at McDonald's and had a good time with everyone. After Lunch, we made our way towards "The Devil's Punch Bowl", the beach. It was cold, windy, and cloudy for the most part although I forgot about the weather and just enjoyed my time there. We played volleyball, and created a pyramid with the whole group, that is something that I'd never done in my life. Anyways, I can't say it any better myself, It was a good day!

Maria La Playa

Ayer estuvo super divertido porque fuimos a la playa auque estaba muy frio y el agua estaba elada pero de cualquier manera me meti auque despues tenia mucho frio y pues tuve que ir a cambiarme creo que todos pasaron un dia muy divertido aunque con un poquito de frio estar en OSU a sido super aunque me he tenido que levantar mas temprano pero me diverti y conosi mas personas grasias por invitarme a OSU pero primero fuimos a un acurios que tambien estubo divertido y este es mi grupo.

Maria El Tercer Dia

Hoy fue un dia muy divertido lo que paso esque estoy muy cansada y mis hojos duelen demasiado y pues no lo pude disfrutar como yo quisiera espero que manana lo pueda hacer mejor pero estuvo muy bien y mas porque trabajamos en equipo y pues discutimos ideas asta llegar a una que todos estemos de acuerdo, pero todo esta bien y me encanta los juegos que asemos.

Angela; Activities!

The activities that we do here at the intitute are fun and exciting. The group got the chance to bowl, play pool, and just have fun. I love the activities that they make us play here, it gives us the chance to challenge our selvs, work as a team, and perhaps also teaching us a life lesson from the activities. One game that we played with our group was trying to have four people laying on eachothers knees to stay up for a certain amount of time. I liked playing it because it was a good challenge and we learned to work as a team.

Yovane, Activities

So far the activities in the OSU have been the very best ones yet especially my favorite ones which includes bowling and dodge ball. Bowling was very exiting there were games, drinks, and a rest area for people who needs to relax. I haven't actually played bowling with the other people but I did play some arcade games. The next day was very awesome because we got to play dodge ball. When the game started I went back so I could catch some balls and throw them at some people that I see on the other side of the court. Soon afterwards we had to go do some blogging and then go to bed but at least we are going to a field trip tomorrow which would be exiting.

Janette/ The challenge course

The first thing I saw once I got to the challenge course area was the huge poles. After noticing them I right away knew that it was going to really be a challenge. I really regret not challenging myself cause I have always been afraid of heights.

Maria Fun Day:)

Today was a fun day because at first I was so anxious to know what are we going to do but later when I was there I was a little scared, sometimes it was a little hard to do that we have to do but I did how much I can and I'm happy with that.

Amparo:Challenge course

Cuando llege ha ese lugar estava nerviosa y ala ves curisa sobre lo que iva ha pasar.Cuando comensamos con las actividades, me sentia con mucha energia y me diverti vastante al travajo como equipo, pero lo que mas me gusto fue escalar, subir a los postes no fue una desicion fasil porque estava asustada pero yo queria saver lo que era estar alla arriba. Cuando me desidi a subir fue una de las esperiensias mas emosionantes por las que eh pasado, ha lo que me refiero es que cuando estava alla arriba sentia que las piernas me temblavan que me iva ha caer pero no lo ise no me cai y lo logre, lo ise suvi.

Angela; Many Challenges

When I first got to the challenge course, I felt so excited to try something so new that I've never done before in my life. I was amazed to see all the different challenges we were going to do for the day, Not only on the course but also working in a team to create team work. Doing the activities and games with the group taught me to trust, communicate, and most importantly work as a team. During the challenge course, i felt stoked to do the things that i was about to do. As I volunteer my self to go on a challenge i felt terrified, and started to worry about the things that could go wrong. The people around me gave me the motivation to jump off the poll and get it over with. After the challenge, I felt accomplished, proud, and confident that I had completed something that I thought was impossible for me to do. I learned that I sometimes we all have to try new things, and step out of our comfort zones without any exceptions.

Yovane, The best day

My second day here in the OSU has been the very best one yet so far because we did the challenge course. When I first saw some of the courses that we were going to do I felt very petrified and ask if I could just support everyone else who are actually going to do the course. Most of the time I was always on the ground supporting other people who were doing the course but once an awhile I've been trying to push myself to do the course but I was still too scared. When the staff announced that we were going to leave I eventually forced myself to do one of the course challenge. Once I was all set I started to climb up the pole but soon afterwards I got too scared and came back down. Even though I didn't complete the challenge I still felt very proud that I even tried.

Hi my name is Janette. I am here to experience the life of a college student, meet new people and learn about college oportunities.

Maria, Why I'm here?

My name is Maria and, I'm here because I want to learn more and also, I want to meet new people also because, I didn't wanted to stay home all the summer, and I want to know about college and I want to have fun, with some people that maybe I see them before but I didn't talk to them. I hope to learn how to get more opportunities. But don't stop because you don't have two much information also you don't stop because you don't have two much money to pay for the classes if you look for help you can find people can help you but also I hope to learn to always ask for a lot of questions because at firts I'm a little quiet.

Angela:The Beginning

My name is Angela Naranjo, I'm spending the week here at OSU for the Migrant Leadership Institute. While I'm here I want to acknowledge all the things that the mentors will teach us about college education and leadership, and hopefully in the future use them as skills to move ahead. One Motto that reflects who I am would have to be "The only limits you have, are the limits you set yourself." This reflects me in a way where I can do anything or everything if I believe in myself. Also because I shouldn't be afraid of trying new things.

I am here because I want to learn to be responsible, respectful, and maybe be a great leader while I am here. While this is my first day I have learned a lot about the OSU and the staff.
